BUT FIRST, a small sample Recommen-DAMES-tion for all! In April, Dames Karen and Sophie shared their picks for great items that cost $25-or-less. But Dame Margaret, gadding about abroad in Malta and Istanbul, did not share hers— until now!

The $25-or-less purchase I choose to recomen-DAME is this extremely portable laptop stand, which presently costs about $12 on Amazon. I’ve been using this for just about a year and it’s so great. Folded up, it’s tiny: one inch thick, 1.75 inches wide, and 9.5 inches long— you can fit it into any laptop bag and carry it all day without even noticing it’s there. Unfolded, it’s sturdy and safely elevates your laptop by 15-40 degrees, which makes using your laptop ergonomically better, makes typing around a touchpad much easier, and— most crucial to this highly vain Dame— puts your camera at a much more flattering angle for virtual meetings. I like mine so much that I recently bought one for my boyfriend to use as well. I hope it’s a hit with you all as well!
