Due to various circumstances (being active on a social media platform that her husband is active on for the first time in years, going to her former city for work at the end of the year, driving up to the North Shore and passing hotels we hung out in together and places we ate together), I've been thinking about a friend who passed away last year quite a bit lately, and reading through all of this felt so cathartic. I had a nice cry. Alli sounds like a riot--I'm glad you're keeping her memory alive šŸ’œ

So much of our grief is all our own, yet also shared with the entire grieving world. Songs are rough, being emotional in the first place. I remember my brother saying he couldn't listen to country music after Mom died. When Dad died in 1987, the radio was filled with songs, not written about death, but that to me were all about him: "Crying" by Roy Orbison for one. Remembering Alli with love and sending love to you, Kiki.
