Recommend Elle Cordova to follow--her recent "fonts hanging out" series (3 videos) are hilarious and clever. I am still on twitter, and if they ever disable the "lists" function I might completely quit. Have checked out bluesky and threads and neither...thrill me. IG is fine, but it's more image/video-based and like you say, not as conversation-focused.
I too, had a charmed twitter experience that basically just hanging out with nice people. It's so much harder to make those connections on Instagram! You *can* talk in the comments, but people generally don't, so how do you make new pals?? So far I feel like I've made some acquaintances who've seen enough of my unhinged Instagram stories (I broke down and let my Twitter Personality cross over) that now they feel more comfortable interacting, sending memes, etc. But it is not the same and not as good. RIP Twitter 😭
