Congratulations! Always hard to leave a job (and start a new one) Silly as it may sound, its an important life skill to master. As you are moving towards “mid career,” I encourage you to take some time and write out goals for your personal development here. What skills do you need to master and what networks etc do you have to build? Above all, savor this success and the lessons learned from MIT!

Congrats on the new job, Margaret! I started a new job in February after 5.5 years at my last company (not nearly as long as you, of course, but the longest I've ever stayed at any one company) and it is sad in some ways, but yay for new opportunities!!
